be among the hundred damsels to act as hostesses for the events of the
COSON Week have been shortlisted for audition. The audition will take
place on Saturday, April 20 at the COSON Corporate Headquarters, 25,

Trophy Of The COSON Song Awards To Be Unveiled As Board Of Trustees, COSON Music Foundation Is Inaugurated
The Board of Trustees of the much talked about COSON Music Foundation
will be inaugurated in Lagos on Tuesday, May 7. The inauguration will
take place at Protea Hotel in GRA Ikeja. Juju music maestro, Evangelist
(Dr) Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi MFR will chair the Board which has as members
such respected music industry personalities as Prof (Sir) Victor Uwaifo
MON JP, Erelu Keji Okunowo, Mr. Edi Lawani, Mr. Toju Ejueyitchie, Chief
Osita Okeke, etc. The Board of Trustees will be responsible for the
prudent management of the funds of the foundation.

Each of the seven big events of the forth coming COSON Week is in
support of the COSON Music Foundation, the big non-profit trust being
set up for Nigerian music and musicians in a profession where there is
no pension, gratuity or an insurance scheme. The foundation will provide
support for artistes in distress and also provide funding for music
education.

The COSON Music Foundation will be formally launched on Wednesday,
May 22, 2013 at the MUSON Centre In Lagos during the COSON Week. The
launch at the special event tagged, the COSON Green Ball, is a key
objective of THE COSON WEEK 2013, one week of unrivalled spectacle which
will grip the attention of the nation from May 19, 2013 and rise to a
crescendo on May 25, 2013 when the COSON SONG AWARDS is staged at the
New Ball Room of the regal Lagos Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island.

At the Tuesday event, the COSON Advisory Council also headed by Evangelist Ebenezer Obey will be inaugurated.

COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji, will use the occasion to give a
comprehensive briefing to the media on the state of readiness of the
different events of the COSON Week as the trophy of the COSON Song
Awards is for the first time unveiled.

SHOCKER AS BLACKFACE IS BLOWN OUT OF THE COSON ALL STARS TABLE TENNIS BLOW OUT! -TIMI DAKOLO SURVIVES
Anyone who has followed the heavy contest for the big trophy and the million naira cash prize in the COSON All Stars Table Tennis Blow Out which began in Lagos on March 10 would have told you that Black Face, the Plantashun boy, was a sure bet for the trophy and the money. This was because of his very confident play and the way he flushed out contestant after contestant with his hot smashes and top spins. However, to the surprise of everyone at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the well-kept Rowe Park Sports Centre, Yaba on Sunday, April 21, Black Face was beaten black and blue. His Nemesis was the lesser known Sure Boy. Sure Boy was sure of himself. He returned everything that Black Face threw at him. Every hot smash was returned with a hotter smash. Everyone in the arena was expectant, waiting for Blackface to pull the irons off the fire. It was not to be as Sure Boy won convincingly in straight sets
Another contest full of surprise was that between Gideon Okeke, the much sought after Tinsel star and presenter of the African Magic TV game show, Money Drop Nigeria and COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji. In the round of 32, Gideon had easily trashed Sheyi Allen, manager and husband of singer, Azeezat Allen. He was looking good to stand on the podium at the finals on May 23. Okoroji was given zero chance of prevailing over his much younger and obviously very talented opponent. It was dramatic how Okoroji picked and picked and totally frustrated Gideon. There was pin drop silence in the arena when Okoroji won the first game and it became clear that Gideon was struggling with the style of a very patient master picker. Gideon Okeke must still be asking himself how he lost in straight sets to Chief Tony Okoroji. He left the arena without talking to anyone.
If Chief Tony Okoroji made it to the last eight, his son, TJ Okoroji was not that lucky. His match with Timi Dakolo was a smash/counter smash festival in which the more patient Timi won 3 games to 0 (11-8, 11-7, 11-9) While Yinka Adebayo of Eko FM flushed out Osy, managers of Solid Star,(11-1,11-8, 11-8); his colleague Sam Anokam of the Sun Newspapers did not make it to the last eight. He was taken away by the young drummer and Star Quest winner with a lot of swagger called Skillato (11-9, 11-0, 11-4). So was Lanre Falana, President of the DJs Association of Nigeria (DJAN). He lost in a hotly contested battle with Dike Osotule of wave making Internet advert referral firm, ASQBABA. Lanre was beaten (13-11, 7-11, 10-12, 11-7).
The eight qualifiers will be on show at the Multipurpose Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere on Thursday May 23 when the last man standing will be determined. They will play the quarter finals, semi-finals and the finals to an arena expected to be filled to capacity with star musicians, the stars of Nollywood and table tennis fans all assured of great music and many side attractions.
The semi-finals and finals of the female draw will also take place at
the same venue. Four female singers will fight it out: Kween Onokala of
Jebele fame, Azeezat, D’light and Queen Ure.
Almost one hundred celebrities have taken part in the Blow Out. Among
them are comedians, AY, Kofi Bovi and Yemi Sodimu; star artistes and
music industry personalities such as Sammie Okposo, Ruggedman, Mr Raw,
Adewale Ayuba, Olamide; Sexy Steel, Efe Omorogbe Djinee, Timi Dakolo,
Konga, Ikechukwu, African Rockstar, Classiq, Justin Kigland, Queen Ure, Azeezat, S.K. Sensation, Maureen Ejezie; Nollywood stars, Ibinabo Fiberesima, Kalu Ikeagwu and media personalities like Ovation magazine editor, Mike Effiong, Yes Magazine publisher, Azu Arinze, Entertainment Express Editor, Azuh Amatus, Calivision CEO, Cally Ikpe, etc.

THE CONTEST BEGINS FOR THE CHOICE OF ONE HUNDRED OF NIGERIA’S MOST BEAUTIFUL DAMSELS TO HOST THE COSON WEEK
The
wave making contest to select one hundred of Nigeria’s most eye
catching beauties who will function as hostesses and exquisitely take
care of the guests at the different events of the much talked about
COSON Week has begun. Two of Nigeria’s most eye catching women in
entertainment, the regal beauty, Kween Onakala and the glowing Queen Ure
have been given the assignment to carefully appraise each girl that
applies and determine if she has the beauty and the brains to be hostess
to Nigeria’s finest when they come together for the exquisite events of
the COSON Week which unfolds on Sunday, May 19 in Lagos. To join the
two beauties in the assignment is rap icon, Ruggedman.

Any
beauty wishing to apply must be between the ages of 18 and 26, at least
5’ 6’’ tall with unblemished skin. The contestant must have poise,
speak fluent English and at least one Nigerian Language. Each contestant
must have a minimum of Ordinary National Diploma and where she has not
yet been admitted to an institution of higher learning, she must have
earned at least credits in five subjects including English passed at one
sitting.

complete, scan and send the form with a full body colour photograph and
a one page essay with the title, ‘The Nigeria of my Dream’ to cosonfoundation@yahoo.com before Tuesday, April 9. The names of all short-listed candidates and the venue of their interview will be published on www.cosonng.com on April 13.

Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji has said that apart from the honorarium
that will be paid to the damsels and the publicity they will receive,
several of them will go home with different gifts and prizes while the
most outstanding of the girls will be made a COSON Ambassador and will
act in that capacity until the next COSON Week. She will also be
entitled to a special allowance.

The chosen beauties will be at COSON in the Church,
the national day of prayer and invocation which will be transmitted
live from the Household of God Church in Lagos on May 19. They will also
be at the National Theatre for the COSON Lecture to be delivered
by Professor Helge Ronning of the University of Oslo on Monday, May 20.
The damsels will join the stars on the streets of Lagos on Tuesday, May
21, when an array of Nigeria’s top artistes meets their fans on the
streets. They will also be there at MUSON Centre when the crème de la
crème of the society come together for theCOSON Green Ball on Wednesday, May 22. COSON assures that anyone who comes to Teslim Balogun Stadium for the finals of the All Stars Table Tennis Blowout on Thursday, May 23 will be welcome by uncommon beauty and fashion. For the COSON Song Awards holding
